Thompson Elementary School was in a temporary lockdown Tuesday because of a package found near campus.
The lockdown was lifted shortly after 3 p.m.
Deputies worked with Spring ISD police and administrators to investigate a "suspicious item" outside the school, located on the 12400 block of Walters.
The campus was on lockdown as a precaution.
"The scene is being cleared and the campus lockdown is being lifted," the HCSO announced Tuesday afternoon.
