Fight To Keep Illegals Off The Census Continues

The fight to keep illegal aliens from influencing the makeup of Congress continues. Republicans have passed legislation that will stop the 2030 census from counting illegals, but will it make it past the Democrat-run Senate?

Joey Chester with the Federation for American Immigration Reform says, right now, probably not. He said, "It's really good legislation that made it out of the House, but unfortunately, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer just isn't interested in taking this kind of legislation up."

Chester says even without congressional help, Donald Trump could hypothetically require a citizenship question on the census via executive order, but that would present a new challenge...the courts. Chester said, "When something like the census counting illegal aliens is facing such backlash from the open border advocates, you are going to have lawsuits."

Chester says this is something voters should consider going into the November election because if this isn't fixed soon, illegal aliens could have major impacts on our elections without even casting a vote.
