Former President Donald Trump is hitting back at the judge in the Manhattan hush money trial after being threatened with jail time.

Judge Juan Merchan found him in contempt of court for a tenth time. Merchan told Trump that if he continues to violate the gag order he will have to consider a "jail sanction." The order prevents Trump from talking about any juror, witness, or possible witness in the trial. Up until now, Trump has been fined $1000 for each violation.

The former President calls it all election interference.

"They want to keep me off the trail for 2-3 more weeks...This is just a political witch hunt--it's election interference...it's a disgrace."

He added that, “The constitution is more important than jail. I’ll make that sacrifice any day.”

Today was the 12th day of the trial. The proceedings could last another four weeks.
