Still Waiting For Judge To Rule In Final Harris County Election Contest

The final Harris County election case wrapped up almost a month ago, so what's the latest? As Tom Petty once said, "The waiting is the hardest part."

And that is exactly what is happening now as judge David Peeples continues to examine all of the evidence.

"We expect a ruling in this case at any time" said Holly Hansen, reporter for The Texan, "Unfortunately, it has been more than two years since that chaotic 2022 election in Harris County."

A chaotic election where Republican judge Tami Pierce lost by just 128 votes to Democrat DaSean Jones. The only problem is, nearly 2,000 votes were cast from -outside- of Harris County.

"It is the most likely to warrant a new election, but there's no guarantees" Hansen told KTRH, "And sometimes courts don't like to upend election results."

The judge could issue his ruling at any time as Hansen said. Stay tuned to News Radio 740 KTRH, for the very latest.
