Man shot in apparent incident of Houston road rage

Houston police are investigating an apparent road rage incident during which a man was shot yesterday near Hobby Airport.

Police say a man driving a white truck about 9 a.m. on Airport Boulevard was cut off near Mykawa by the driver of a red truck. The man in the white truck tried to catch up to the red truck, but witnesses told police he intercepted the wrong vehicle. It was being being driven a woman taking her 8-year-old son to school.

When both reached a stoplight at Telephone Road, police said the man in the white truck got out and broke the woman's rear window with a metal rod.

That’s when the woman pulled out a pistol and shot the man in his arm.

Police said the wounded man was taken to a hospital where he was reported in critical but stable condition.

The woman was detained for questioning, but no charges have been filled. The district attorney’s office says the case will be presented to a grand jury for deliberation.
