Omnichannel is All the Rage in Retail

Apparently the concept of omnichannel in retail happened before omnicron, but they’ve oddly intersected.

Omnichannel is the new buzzword, omni coming from the Latin for “all” or “every,” and channel being a pathway by which something travels, such as the Houston Ship Channel.

It is omnichannel is shopping by every means possible: brick and mortar retail, online, catalogue. The mentality of “I want what I want when I want it” has taken over retail.

Shoppers don’t expect to have to accommodate the needs of a retailer; they expect the retailer to accommodate their needs, and preferred methods, and available times.
