HISD's New Superintendent Beefing up In-Class Instruction

The Houston ISD's new superintendent is laying out what he plans to do in his first three-months on the job.

Millard House II toured Sugar Grove Academy in southwest Houston last week.

House says he'll be placing an emphasis on a full return to classroom instruction as a means of overcoming educational setbacks caused by virtual learning during the pandemic.

HISD says 58-thousand students are attending summer school this year trying to catch up.

This will be House's second week on the job.
