Here’s What You Can Buy Tax Free This Weekend

It’s the annual Texas statewide “Emergency Preparation Supplies Sales Tax Holiday,” which means you don’t have to pay sales tax on select stuff you need during emergencies when purchased April 24-26.

Get as much as you want. There’s no limit.

It’s starts just after the stroke of midnight on Saturday and runs through midnight Monday.

Online and phone orders count.

Emergency ladders

Hurricane shutters

Less than$75

Axes

Batteries, single or multipack

Can openers, non-electric

Carbon monoxide detectors

Coolers and ice chests for food storage

Fuel containers

Ground anchor systems and tie down kits

Hatchets

Ice produces – reusable and artificial

Light sources – portable self-powered

Mobile phone batteries and mobile telephone chargers

Radios – portable, self-powered

Smoke detectors

Tarps and other plastic sheeting
