Park Named After Young Astros Fan Killed by Brain-Eating Amoeba

The Astros are picking up the tab to build a park dedicated to a six-year-old boy who died of a brain-eating amoeba last year.

Josiah McIntyre was a huge Astros fan who died last September, a few days after encountering the amoeba in Lake Jackson's water supply.

Educators set about raising 65-thousand-dollars to create an Astros-themed park in Josiah's memory.

An Astros Foundation executive showed up with a check for the full amount.

The park at Josiah's school is set to open on September 8th, the anniversary of his death.
