A Texas Rio Grande Valley high school football team is being removed from the playoffs after a player attacked a referee. Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District officials called last night's attack involving Edinburg defensive end Emmanuel Duron completely unexpected. They also apologized to the referee and his family. Duron was filmed running onto the field and plowing into the ref at full speed after being ejected from the game. Trustees are promising appropriate disciplinary action.
