A South Texas congressman is seeking to pass a bill that would provide college student loan forgiveness for more than 40-million Americans.
Congressman Vicente Gonzalez of McAllen introduced the Student Loan Relief Bill yesterday.
It would direct the Secretary of Education to forgive up to 25-thousand-dollars in loans to eligible borrowers.
The debt relief package would have a total cost of over 775-billion-dollars if passed.
