Texas retailers are breathing a sigh of relief

The crowds you are seeing while you've been out shopping are a welcome sight for retailers in Texas.

That's because those people aren't just getting out. They are spending money. George Keleman with the Texas Retailers Association says March and April were rough for everyone.

"Once it phased in back in May, it opened things up," Kelemen said.

Now, it's paying off.

"It's only gotten better in general. The numbers we are seeing for May and June are bearing that out," Kelemen explaned.

Kelemen did warn that if there are shutdowns in the future, an industry that operates on a slim margin could suffer major damage
