Katy ISD officials claim the accidental release of its employees' personal information is resulting in only a low security risk.
The school district disclosed on Thursday that the birth dates and Social Security numbers of its staff as of the end of the 2017-2018 school year had been accidentally released.
The data had been sent in response to a routine request for a list of employees.
Katy ISD says the file that contained the data was destroyed when it was discovered.
District officials also let credit monitoring agencies know about the incident.
