The state of Texas has a new multi-millionaire.
The winning ticket gets the estimated $227 million Mega Millions jackpot. That ticket matched all six numbers – 6, 14, 24, 42, 46 and the Mega Ball 9 – to claim the grand prize. Gary Grief with the Texas Lottery Commission tells KTRH that ticket was sold in Cedar Park, just north of Austin.
"We are still waiting for all the numbers to come in, but we anticipate the cash value to be about $157 million.
It was the sixth time this year that the Mega Millions jackpot has been won. The last time was in July when a lottery player in New Hampshire won a $168 million.
