4-Year-Old Texas Girls Finds Bone Marrow Match After Battling Cancer

A 4-year-old Quinlan girl with a rare form of cancer has found a much-need bone marrow match.

Landrie Lay was diagnosed last November with MDS, a rare form of cancer that affects the bone marrow. Since then, her family has been desperately searching for a match for a transplant.

“Emotionally, this is any parent's nightmare,” Lindsay Lay told FOX4 earlier this month. “I go to bed a lot very scared for her future and what she'll go through.”

Since then, Lindsay says a match has finally been found her daughter. Landrie will be admitted to Children's Medical Center in Dallas next month.

Doctors will begin giving Landrie high doses of chemotherapy to get her ready for surgery. If all goes as planned, the transplant will follow.
