(New York, NY) -- It's been an up and down day for the stock market. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is logging a 260-point gain after erasing steep losses earlier in the session. The Dow closed at 23-139 after plunging more than 600 points earlier on Thursday.
Stocks rallied in the final hour of volatile trading. The Nasdaq gained 25 points to 65-79. The S&P 500 rose 21 points to 24-89.
Markets slumped early today on reports President Trump is considering an executive order to ban U.S. companies from using equipment built by some Chinese firms.
