Police Announce "No Refusal" Weekend For DWI Suspects

(Houston, TX)  --  Police are reminding drivers that we're entering a "No Refusal" weekend, when drivers suspected of DWI will be required to have their blood-alcohol level tested.

Starting today and extending through New Year's Day on Tuesday, police say a lot of people treat it as a five-day drinking weekend, and more drunk-driving crashes result.

Prosecutors say Houston has more DWI fatalities than any other city nationwide.  Last year, there were nearly 29-hundred DWI traffic accidents in Harris County, and more than 150 of them were deadly.
