A woman was hit and killed earlier this morning by a METRO bus in the Cypress Station area of north Harris County. And now the driver is facing charges of criminally negligent homicide
Octavio Martinez is the driver facing charges. He has been a METRO driver for 27 years.
It appears as if the woman, who was a cook at Little Stars Academy, was hit by the bus as she was crossing the street after getting off of a different METRO bus. A METRO spokesperson says the driver was unaware there was a pedestrian in the street.
"He didn't see her. He didn't realize until after the fact," the spokesperson said.
