Channel 13 is reporting the death last night of longtime weathercaster Ed Brandon.
Brandon joined 13 Eyewitness News in 1972, working with anchors Dave Ward, Shara Fryer, Gina Gaston, Melanie Lawson, Art Rascon, Sports Director Bob Allen and Action 13's Marvin Zindler..
Brandon, who started his broadcast career as a disc jockey, was born in Texarkana in 1942 and attended the University of Texas at Austin. He retired in May 2007 after 35 years with the station.
A public memorial service is being planned.
