Bad Test Scores at Good School

An investigation is underway after more than 150 students at a high-performing local school were given zero scores on their English essays.

Officials with George Ranch High School in the Lamar Consolidated ISD were baffled this spring when 157 students received the low scores on their English 1 and English 2 essays. The school's students ordinarily do better than the state average on standardized tests.

Now the Texas Education Agency and the testing company, Educational Testing Service, are looking into the matter.
