“Affluenza Mom” Back In Jail

The mother of the "affluenza teen" is back in the Tarrant County jail.

Tonya Couch was arrested for the second time in three months for failing a drug test while out on bond. The 51-year old is on probation for hindering the apprehension of a fugitive and money laundering:  She and her son Ethan ran off to Mexico in 2015 to avoid his prosecution for a possible parole violation.

Ethan Couch, 21, was on probation for an underage DWI crash that killed four people in 2013. His case drew national attention when he received probation for his crime; a defense expert testified Couch was too ‘affluent’ to understand right from wrong.
