Texans to watch first round of NFL Draft tonight

The Houston Texans are on the outside looking in when it comes to tonight’s first round of the NFL Draft, which is taking place in North Texas.

In fact, the Texans don’t pick until the third round on Friday night. That’s when they have three picks. They also have a fourth rounder, and new General Manager Brian Gaine is comfortable with staying right where he is.

“There are challenges involved with that in terms of getting blue chip talent and prospects. But the focus that I have had and that my staff has had is that we are going to get four picks out of the 103 in this draft,” Gaine explained.

That said, if there is an opportunity to move up, Gaine certainly will take a close look at it.

“We’ll measure opportunity when it meets itself,” Gaine stated.

The Texans traded their first round pick to Cleveland last year for the opportunity to select quarterback Deshaun Watson. That pick turned out to be the fourth overall choice in the draft. The Browns also have the first pick in tonight’s first round.

Single-game tickets for the 2018 home games will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Fans can purchase tickets online via www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-3000. Single-game tickets will not be sold at the NRG Stadium box office.
