Armed and Educated

In an effort to keep students safe, dozens of Texas school districts allow their staff to be armed.

The Texas Association of School Boards says at least 172 districts let teachers and administrators carry guns.  A TASB spokeswoman says the number is likely to grow.

About 150 Texas school districts have their own police departments.  More than 250 districts without a police department rely on school resource officers instead.
