Group wants to stop Armchair Psychiatry of Trump

The American Psychiatric Association doesn’t like all of this diagnosing from afar that you see when it comes to President Trump. So they are trying to do something about it.

They came out publicly this week and called for an end to this 'armchair' form of psychiatry. Dr. David Henderson is a board certified psychiatrist and tells KTRH what he is seeing is disturbing.

“It is an absolute travesty for a psychiatrist to diagnose someone without ever having done an interview with that person,” Henderson said.

This is all happening after the release of the book 'The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President,' which claims to have met with more than a dozen Congressmen to discuss the President's mental health.” Henderson says the mainstream media plays a role, too.

“They know that just to simply plant the idea, seed, or the thought that someone has a mental illness is enough to change people’s perspectives,” Henderson explained.

Trump is getting his physical today, one that will not include a psychiatric exam.
