Willie and Friends Raise Money for Relief

Legendary Texas country singer Willie Nelson joined a host of other stars at the University of Texas’ Erwin Center for a four-hour concert to provide hurricane relief.

The “Texas Strong: Harvey Can’t Mess with Texas” concert featured performances from Bonnie Raitt, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Klein-native Lyle Lovett, and Austin actor Matthew McConaughey.

The goal of the show is to raise 100-million dollars for the Dell Foundation’s Rebuild Texas campaign.  The money will be distributed in every Texas county affected by Hurricane Harvey.  Dell CEO Michael Dell and his wife Susan kicked off the fundraising campaign weeks ago with a personal donation of 36-million dollars, the single-largest personal donation ever made.
