Veterans Group Aids in Harvey Relief

More than 100 volunteers from Los Angeles have flown into southeast Texas to help with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

They’re members of Team Rubicon, a veteran-led disaster response team.  American Airlines picked up the cost of the airfare.

The group also sent volunteers during rescue operations, and helped get dozens of people out of harm’s way.

Team Rubicon COO Art Delacruz said, “"(They're) really going to do the tough jobs - pulling all the drywall off, pulling all the furniture out and putting it onto the street because, really, we're in a race against deteriorating conditions in the home - mold and things like that."

Team Rubicon is expected to deploy up to two-thousand volunteers to help with cleanup efforts over the next six weeks.
