Texas lawmakers have passed legislation that would allow people with handgun permits to have guns in their parked cars outside schools.
The measure has been sent to Gov. Greg Abbott for his signature.
The intent of the measure is to allow educators and other school employees to leave weapons in their vehicles without breaking state law.
