Trump treated negatively by network broadcast news

The mainstream media hasn’t been kind to President Trump, and some new numbers will show you the treatment of Trump is worse than you may have realized.

Mike Ciandella is a researcher with the Media Research Center. He's watched the broadcast network evening newscasts from January 20th through early April, and tells KTRH the coverage of Trump is negative 89% of the time.

“When we do a study like this we expect the numbers to be skewed, but this is just overwhelming,” Ciandella explained. “If someone had said the coverage was 89% negative and we hadn’t looked at the data ourselves we might not have believed it.”

Ciandella says the broadcast networks have decided to ignore the improvement in jobs and the economy at the expense of other issues that are more divisive and fit their left leaning narrative better.

“They focused on things like the travel ban and repealing Obamacare, which they see as an attack on Obama’s legacy and therefore would be a bad thing to repeal it for them,” Ciandella stated.

The effort to repeal Obamacare was covered 94% negatively and got 152 minutes of coverage. In comparison the nomination and confirmation of Neil Gorsuch as a Supreme Court Justice got just 69 minutes of broadcast network news coverage.
