Four family members are dead – another was injured – in a series of shootings across Fresno and South Houston, ending when the alleged shooter took her own life.
Investigators in Fort Bend County believe 48-year old Carolyn Holmes was murdered inside her home by her sister, 29-year old Dekitta Holmes. Sheriff’s deputies found the victim while conducting a welfare check.
Police say the suspect drove to southeast Houston and killed a neighbor, who has not yet been identified. They believe she walked to her mother’s house where 64-year old Laverne Holmes and her 65-year old boyfriend Robert Lee Wesley were shot. He died, but Laverne Holmes is currently in critical condition.
According to investigators, Dekitta then called her niece before turning the gun on herself.
It series of killings is the most violent crime in the Houston area this year.
