The Iron Eagle is coming to the Kemah Boardwalk.

It’s a zip line, of sorts.

“It’s got all the thrill of a traditional zip line, but at the same time has a family appeal because of the seating on the ride,” Mark Kane, regional manager of Landry’s Theme Parks told KTRH. “It’s a side by side seat, and rather than the traditional harness that is strapped through your crotch and over your shoulder, you’re seating two people side by side.”

It will load in the Plaza and pull you up a 400-foot-long line that rises to a height of 100 feet with a panoramic view of Galveston Bay to entertain you during the ride.  At the top you’ll have a moment to take in the sights and then begin your exhilarating descent back to the point where the ride began.

The grand opening of the Iron Eagle is Saturday, September 14.
