Houston-area doctors are keeping an eye out for an affliction which causes symptoms like polio.

All confirmed cases so far seem to be in California -- maybe more than two dozen.  Patients can lose the use of their arms or legs and sometimes it affects the ability to breathe

Neurologists say it's like the old polio which seemed to be wiped out decades ago.

The first case was reported two years ago.  Doctors thought it was asthma.  Standard treatments did no good.

West Coast doctors are working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  To this point, no patients have died, but none have shown any kind of improvement.
