Two 10 year old boys swimming in the San Luis Pass area of Galveston got into trouble trying to make it to shore Sunday morning.
One boy was able to make it shore and was pulled out by his father. The second boy's father went into the water in attempt to rescue him, but both went under water and never resurfaced.
A spokesman for the Coast Guard said they will resume the search them this morning. Beach Patrol Chief Peter Davis says 3-8 foot drop-offs make that area extremely dangerous.
This incident is the second drowning this Memorial Day weekend. Friday evening 18 year old League City teen Chris Jackson was knocked under water by a large wave in the San Luis pass area and didn't resurface. The Coast Guard called off their search for Jackson after scouring the water for 22 hours.
