A Baytown mother of two fought off a man hidden in her van, who threatened her with a knife as she drove.

Dorothy Baker had her 2-year-old and 5-year-old sons with her as she drove through Baytown to return a movie Friday. When she got back in her van and asked her 5-year-old to join her up front, a man grabbed him from the third row of her van and held him back.

Ismael Martinez demanded $200 from Baker. She told him she didn't have it. That's when Martinez attempted to attack her. Baker was still driving as they struggled.

Martinez bit her and she managed to elbow him, landing him in her passenger seat. She then called 9-1-1.

Martinez jumped out and tried to run away. Baker hit him with her van, running over him. He was taken by medical chopper to a local area hospital and is expected to survive.

Baytown Police say Martinez could face charges of aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery.
