Returning Aggies quarterback and last year's Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel will start this season on the sidelines.

The NCAA has reached an agreement with Texas A&M to suspend Manziel for half a game for getting paid for signing autographs at a couple locations including the BCS National Championship game last season.

Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin broke his silence Tuesday saying Manziel is ready for football, "Johnny's handled it well.  Everything around football, he's been extremely sharp and focused."

In the game against Rice University on Saturday, Manziel will sit out the first half.  In his place Sumlin says either Matt Joeckel or Kenny Hill will start.
