Air Show Draws Crowds to South Houston
Posted October 25th, 2013 @ 6:32am by KTRH’s Dale Forbis

are expecting big crowds at this weekend’s 29th annual Wings Over Houston Air Show.  Lots of planes from our military history will be in the air, including the only B-29 Super-Fortress now flying.  Rich Welsh is a member of the board of directors for the event...

“It's a rare show.  It's a history lesson,” Welsh says.  “If people have families with younger people, it's a great way to show 'em a piece of history and let them see what it's all about.”

The event will be held at Ellington Airport starting tomorrow.

“Gates open 8 a.m., the flying starts at 10,” he says.  “It'll just be about four and a half hours of continuous flying throughout the show.”

In addition to the military aircraft, a plane representing “Dusty” from the Disney movie, “Planes,” will take its first-ever flight at the show.
