Harris County voting centers results still haven't officially been reported Wednesday morning but a runoff between incumbent Mayor Sylvester Turner against prominent attorney Tony Buzbee seems very possible.
Turner has a fair lead in his bid for reelection but he lacks the majority needed to win outright.
With election results still being analyzed and no official announcement yet made, early numbers suggest Mayor Turner appears to be heading for a one-on-one fight with Buzbee in December.
It was unclear early this morning (Wednesday) when the final vote count will be complete. At 3:45 a.m. almost 25% of of voting centers had results posted publicly.
As of 5:00 a.m. Wednesday morning Turner has 46.42% of votes, Buzbee has 30.15%, businessman Bill King ranks at 13.69%, 5.57% for councilman Dwight Boykins, and less than 2% for Sue Lovell.
