We all have concepts in our minds of space stations and certainly rockets, satellites, space ships. But NASA is looking at designs for actual housing on Mars and other land-based atmospheres in space.
They've just revealed the winning virtual habitats in the 3-D Printed Habitat Centennial Challenge competition.

But this is so much more than snazzy designs….it’s about sustainable housing that can utilize native materials, such as they are across the solar system. One of those mind-stretching exercises in physics, chemistry, engineering, architecture…..and maybe some science fiction novelist thrown in too.
