The Alamo City

It’s no slam on Houston, but I do love San Antonio.  Lived there for a couple of years before my move to the Bayou City….and the Alamo is still the centerpoint of sentiment for this Texan.

I paid respects while walking toward La Villita and all along the River Walk.  Ballet Folklorico was performing at the Arneson River Theater.  The barges were filled with tourists taking in what is now a 300 year old town.

And the locals were out with their families at the new, hip development called Pearl….the remake of the former Pearl Brewery.  Such a relaxed and polite ambience to San Antonio, even in 100 degree heat.  Met several young couples too, that give me hope about the future of the Alamo City.
