After two days and counting of this deep freeze, the mere idea of a fireball intrigues.  And there was one….in the skies above Michigan.  It light up the night sky of Metro Detroit and surrounding area as if it were daylight, creating some genuine astonishment among those below.

Thousands of Michiganders took to social media questioning what happened and those of us closely watching our own weather even wondered what was going on there…..

 Department of Homeland Security confirmed it was a meteor fireball…first a loud boom and then a flash of light as the meteor burned up in the atmosphere.  That would be a sight.
