The readiness of a single person brought an end to the shooting massacre at the Sutherland Springs church here in Texas. Now identified by name, Stephen Willeford is a plumber by trade, no military background, but a man who was ready when the need arose. He was ready with his weapon, his ability and his will to use it for the protection of life.
The State of Texas denied the killer a license to carry... our system was readied to deny on his domestic violence record.
But the US Air Force did not report his court martial and bad conduct discharge from service, which allowed the killer to legally buy his rifle. A clerical mistake, bureaucratic, or worse systemic? And at a time when military readiness is tantamount.
