On the first day of Jimmy Barrett on Houston’s Morning News, we got a good measure of the man.
He is called JB by friends, and that’s something profoundly Texan…for a guy who came to us from Richmond, Virginia, as a native of Detroit.
I think he’ll become one of those “quiet man” Texans, civil and courteous in his manners, and warm of spirit and chuckle. He has a dog and cats and a feisty (he tells me) “Sicilian” wife Elizabeth. His sons are grown.
He has a good heart and told listeners of “Houston’s Morning News” that he is aware of the footprints of Matt Patrick which he won’t try to obliterate…but emulate.
That humility is the hallmark of the quiet man. Yes, Jimmy Barrett has a good start here in the Lone Star State.
