Like many of you, I was listening to the Michael Berry show and learned of the passing of former Constable Bill Bailey. Appropriately Michael and Ramon played the George Strait tune, "The Cowboy Rides Away".
Most of you know the voice...Bill Bailey using his Radio Hall of Fame pipes for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for 54 years. He was a popular country D-J back in the 60's and wore the Constable's hat in Precinct 8 until 2011.
My 2 favorite memories are just shooting the breeze with him one evening after a rodeo trail ride...and going to his home to see his prized hibiscus garden. Who knew that the cowboy took such delight in those fragile blooms. But he did.
