Sometimes you really do learn important things when trolling the internet. Case in point, a “Business Insider” story explaining why the American flag appears backwards as the patch on U.S. military uniforms.
Truth be told, I have never noticed that before. But the explanation is a lesson in honor and attitude.
The flag of the United States always faces forward….you see that in presentations, parades, color guards, even in stands upon a stage. On the sleeve of a soldier…the stars of our flag lead with the bars trailing….facing forward. Now you’re going to want to take a look, aren’t you?
It’s the honor we hold for our flag…the same reason the U.S. flag doesn’t dip or salute…to neither man nor king. An attitude paid in blood and sacrifice.
