You have asked for it and you're getting it. Sugar Land voters approved the bonds for a lake at Brazos River Park and the city council has given it a go.

It's actually a lake project because it includes a boat house, multi-use trails, landscaping, irrigation, lighting, parking and roadway improvements too. The best designed lake to meet natural demand for canoeing, kayaking and even dragon boat races.

This has all been years in the asking and the bond issue finally made it possible. The new lake project connects with Sugar Land Memorial Park, the city's Festival Site and network of hike/bike trails.

Build a lake, indeed, in Sugar Land.
