All you have to say is Allison…and folks who lived in central Houston remember the day she struck 16 years ago.  Actually the greater area had already had a week of rain, so the fierce-looking red thunderstorm cell that showed up on weather radar that Friday evening….we first thought was just another fast moving downpour.  But this was part of a tropical storm system Allison and when the first cell moved through, it was followed by another and then another and it just didn’t stop raining all night on Houston….inside the Loop.  More than a foot of rain proved deadly and destructive into the billions of dollars.

In this hurricane season 2017, it’s a cautionary tale of Tropical Storm Allison June 9, 2001.
