It's the mighty Mississippi cutting through the heartland and it's hitting flood stage. I've posted a photo from a family member on a high bluff above the river just south of downtown St Louis.
The norther that brought tornadoes to Texas, brought torrential rain to Missouri, Illinois and Arkansas, now massive flooding and at least 9 deaths. The Illinois, the Missouri, the Meramec Rivers tributaries all on the rise and not yet cresting...shutting down Interstate 55 and virtually cutting off St Louis from the southeastern U.S.
Sometimes we Texans forget how mighty some rivers can be.
