I heard the chatter in the newsroom about a crawfish festival this weekend and immediately figured it was here in bayou country. It is, and Rachel Estrada has all the details on her "Connected" blog. Check that out.
But my internet search for the location yielded some surprising finds....imagine celebration of crawfish in Phoenix....New Braunfels...even Austin....where the promoter refers to it as "authentic" Louisiana food.
Just amuzing to muse, is it another example of globalization or, oh my, mis-appropriation of culture?
Aren't you glad you live in the Bayou City where crawfish is spelled with a "w", and we call them mud bugs. How "authentic" is that?
