There was a time when "having a voice" also carried the responsibility of using it fairly, and, to your best effort, wisely. In this new world of social media and broadcast technology, everyone now has a voice and I'm all for it. But that's a lot of noise to sift through every day and I'll leave what is wise or fair to your judgement.
Why am I even saying this? It was a headline I saw about "celebrities" blasting United Airlines for not allowing two teenagers to fly because they were wearing leggings. Such outrage!
The fairness left out of the headline? The teens were flying, basically free, on a friends and family UA pass…a perq that carries a dress code. That’s the contract for the deal.
You want to wear leggings….buy your ticket like the rest of passengers. That’s the voice I’m using.
