MUSIC IN YOUR EARS

That music in your ears can be annoying or life-saving.  That’s what I gleaned from two separate reports on Houston’s Morning News.  First, the earworm phenomenon, a song that just gets stuck in your head.  British scientists say chewing gum can stop that…or, alternatively, actually listening to the annoying song will take it outside your head again, giving you a sort of closure.

The other report… music in their ears is helping train first responders for heart resuscitations.  It’s New York Presbyterian Hospital that plays songs that have 100 beats a minute, the same beat for performing cpr.

What songs?  Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love”,  Abbas’s “Dancing Queen”, and appropriately the Bee Gees “Stayin” Alive”.

Earworms to keep in mind.
