Leave it to Rod Ryan to bring pipers to the halls of iHeartmedia…on the morning before St Patrick’s Day. Personally, I like the sound of bagpipes, the rousing of your blood with the battle cry purpose of the pipes. Scottish heritage and all that.
And that’s the thing. They were playing Scottish pipes and Scottish tunes...though many of my coworkers questioned if they were tunes at all.
So I’ve pulled some photos of true Irish musicians at work and one of them at least at rest in Ireland…from my visit there last June to County Kerry. It was a jolly time of dancing in pubs…with a dram or two. And it was music appropriate for St Patrick’s Day.
My gauge, if there’s dancing, it is the sound of music.
Thanksfully, these young bagpipers are keeping the tradition alive.
